I am right at the top of the rider weight limit but I nor the salesmen took that into account when I was looking to make my purchase. My 2015 tops out at 33-34MPH on flat ground with a 270LBS rider, I now, wish I would have purchased a 2016 model if to even have gained 2 or 3 more MPH.

I love the white, that is the color I wanted as well. I ended up with dark blue, it was my second choice. I was buying a 2015 model to save some money and there was very limited stock available. I'm a Seahawks fan so dark blue works well for me as well. Congrats on the new scooter!

I've owned six different 2013-2015 Mets over the last two years. All have had identical performance: top sustainable cruising speed (flats, no wind) of 35 MPH. (I'm small and weigh 140 lbs.)

And on every one I've replaced the stock variator, roller weights, and belt with the same upgrade 'package':
• M-Factory HyperPulley variator (model MF120001)
• Kitaco kevlar belt (model 465-1077300)
• Dr. Pulley sliders, 16x13, 5grams

Speed gains for me with this set-up have been utterly consistent across all six scoots: gains of about 3 MPH, with no loss of acceleration.

I've always ordered the M-Factory variator and Kitaco belt from Japan's Webike site. They're utterly reliable. Links to the entries:

The Dr. Pulley sliders are readily available from U.S. merchants, such as Amazon:

This area is a General Chat area of the forum. The original post was correctly entered here. It started about purchase and pics of a new 2016 Met. Comments on that scooter and general comparisons are continued as welcome.
Please do not further hijack the thread. If discussion is amplified as far as modifications and enhancements, it belongs in that Mod area of the forum.

I'm glad I found this thread. I'm in the market for a Met, but was unsure whether to go 15 or 16.
I've read the differences, but I can get a 15 for less than $1800, before all of the "stuff" is added, of course.
The only problem is all they have left are PINK!
Just wondering if my manhood could hold up on a pink scooter. =))
Well, it is $500.00 less.

Men can ride pink scooters. But you can see that they only have pink ones left cause it's a hard color to sell. So if you think about resale some day, owning a pink scooter may be problematic. Who might want it? But it's not a manhood thing (pink scooter less likely to be stolen by some thug with testosterone conflict!). I had a blue scooter for 6 years and I never felt like less of a woman. When you know who you are, what color machine you own is immaterial to your identity.

The problem buying a 2015 Met, any color, is that saving that money, $500 is substantial, may make you regret not being able to go faster. If the slower speed will frustrate you, spend the money on the optimal bike. You get a color you want, you go faster, you sell it easier if you want to give it up. So how much are those three advantages worth? $500??

The pink comment was really tongue-in-cheek. ;) I've ridden more different colors than I can remember.

As to speed, I'm just looking for something small and light that I can hang on the back of the RV, for grocery runs so I don't have to fire up the big diesel. I could consider something bigger, but my trailer has a limited amount of weight capacity at the rear frame. Fully MC licensed for (many) years, so that's not an issue.

The point of resale is something I hadn't really considered, but maybe the fact that they are having trouble selling them will let me get an even better price. They have THREE of them. All pink.

I wasn't advocating either way. You didn't make your use parameters known so I addressed issues that are normally relevant, like speed satisfaction and resale factors and wanted to provoke your consideration of both sides if the argument for/against a 2015 model. Since you want just a practical, lightweight, small bike for getting around and particularly want portability, it is clear that your thrifty look at the pink bike is good thinking. Hope you enjoy whatever you get. If I had known in your first post what you finally noted, I would have answered differently.

GizmoGal's considerations of resale value are something I've never thought about before.... And absolutely, in the absence of known use parameters, I would join her in counseling you to go with the newer Met.

BUT if you're really looking for something simply to zip around campsites and make grocery runs, I'd recommend going with the $500-cheaper pink 2015 Met instead.

ESPECIALLY if you're not a small guy. The new 2016 Met has lower handelbars, and less/more restricted foot space. It's just smaller in the cockpit overall. That's a negative generally -- and all the more so if you're looking at grocery runs, because it won't be able to accommodate as much cargo on the floorboard.

Here's an earlier post from a guy who loves his new pink Met. Looks very manly to me.

to me the nicest colors of the 13 to 15 models would be the cream and the pink although i wonder if honda called it rose maybe it would sell more?

Hey @Hondapcx150, how's the engine noise of your new 2016 Met? Quieter than the 2013-2015 air-cooled ones? More like the old 1st-gen Mets?

My local dealer just uncrated a 2016 and now has both models in the showroom.
I'm going to check them out this week.
