I just happened to be doing an Internet search for my newly published book, and this thread came up. Guess what it's called. :)

I've been riding streetbikes and racing off and on for over 25 years. I just started commuting 10 miles each way in NYC on a Met. Just about every skill I have is used on the commute. It is all direct correlation just slower. My two small issues is I tend to misjudge the Metro's rate acceleration if I want to merge. This can be a problem, but I catch myself. The other is if I am going fast (all things relative) and brake hard for a corner my left foot twitches for the downshift.
Oh for a laugh...I got off of the Metro and onto a Yamaha R1 last night went from probably 4 hp to 180hp, man do did the R1 feel faster than usual.
