thoughts on price of 2007 Met

Found a 2007 Met for sale with only 325 miles. They're asking $1550. I have looked at KBB and, yes, the price KBB listed is way below this asking price, but with only 325 mi. I would be willing to pay more. $1550 seems way too high though. Thoughts ....?

Price for a new one in 2007 was probably $1800-$1900. I think this bike is priced pretty high in 2015 for $1550,even with such low mileage. It's still a 7-8 year old bike. Unless it has been in storage with battery properly kept charged, gas drained or with additive to protect the fuel, absolutely clean oil, tires not drying out on a garage floor, you are buying a very expensive bike. I'd also check to make sure the seller can show proper title or proof of ownership, so it was not removed from the street, i.e., stolen, and then put on sale. This price is high, the bike has few miles but many years, and unknown maintenance while apparently being idle for years.
Caveat emptor. Get a guaranty for some amount of months/miles or parts in writing from the owner, if you buy it, or be prepared to ask a lot of questions before you pay. If you still want that Met that bad, you should renegotiate the price to be realistic.

I bought my 2006 scooter years ago and only paid $1200 for it. After sitting all these years I don't think I would pay more than $1000 for the one you are looking at. And it would have to run. You are looking at new tires, battery and maybe carb work, I think. If I were to sell mine today (which runs great and has been maintained) I still don't think I could get over $1000. :)

I'd agree with $1000. $1200 if you are really sure he won't come down to $1000.

Beyond that, I'd move on.
