Check your battery. Put a multi meter across the poles with it off. Should read 13.2-13.6 volts. If it’s not there put it on a battery tender to charge it.

If it never gets to 13.x volts it’s a bad battery. If it does, hook the multi meter leads to the terminals (or get a buddy to help) and try to start it. If the voltage drops below 9 volts during the start, the battery is bad and needs to be replaced.

If it starts the voltage across the terminals should be ~13.6 when it’s idling. If it’s not, your charging system needs to be looked at since it won’t ever charge it back up, it’ll die again at some point.

Chances are it’s your battery. Post your results and if it’s not your battery we can look at more.

Check your fuses too. Maybe do that first.

I'm gonna try when I get back home, so it's not uncommon for the battery to just go like that? I bought the scoot new in 2015 and it has 8400 miles on it now. I.really hope it is the battery as it is my main transportation.

Not uncommon for a battery to wear out. In order to trouble shoot why it died you have to start it back up, since I imagine there were no problems using the electric start before.

Can you kick start it?

when you turn the key do the lights come on?

When you press the starter do the lights really go dim?

Did you check your fuses?

I bet the battery got so low it couldn't run the bike. Now it doesn't have enough juice to crank the starter... but it might have enough to run the pump and the lights. You might just need to throw the battery on a battery tender overnight. But while your doing that check the voltages like I explained before... since if the battery is bad you can limp through it by putting it on a tender each night, but eventually you'll need a new one.

Get a cheapo digital multimeter (or borrow one) and check it out. that's the only way you'll know for sure.

I’m pretty sure the 2015 Mets are fuel injected and they do not kick start. (The older carburetor Mets did kick start.)
All the other suggestions from lilpinny are clearly good advice and might guide you to insight as to why as well as to solve your problem.

Hope you find a fix soon, dblock65.

Fuel injection gets me every time :)

It’s sounds like your battery is dead. Next question, is it the battery that won’t hold a charge (very likely) or is it that your charging system isn’t charging it (less likely)?

Charge it up and watch the voltage drop when you try to start it. It’ll dip for a second and should come right back up into th 13’s. If it dips below 9v, it’s bad. Get a new one. But don’t buy a new one until you have proven it bad in case it’s the charging system.

Have you tried to jump start it?

Post your results!

Also these little usb jump start kits are handy to have in your ride backpack. https://shop.advanceautoparts.com/c4/ba ... unit/13560

They sell them at any auto parts store. If I didn’t have a kickstart (and I don’t) I’d have one handy. Not too late for xmas!
